GATTCA
I somehow think that we depend on advance of science and technology too much. The more we seek comfort in science, the less human we are. If we could fix junk DNA and make all of us valid human beings, it will be a huge mistake. We are all different equally and that brings us originality. I also love to think there is miracle that we will never be able to prove by science as Vince did with a life expectancy of 30.2 years olds with several diseases. Biological potential doesn't matter at all in order to achieve the goal. No matter how weak we might be born, there is still a greater chance to swim the ocean of victory.

There was a person who was a deaf and blind, still fulfilled her life and made impossible possible. She became blind and deaf when she was little. Since then, her parents could not handle razing her that spoiled her. She was a left bird with damaged wings was never considered to fly ever again. Her lack of communication eventually almost lost an opportunity to experience or express to her social environments, until legendary guidance came to her life. After meeting Ann Sullivan changed her destiny. Immediately Ann started to lecture communication by spelling her hand and slowly but surely Helen improved and learned a beauty of life. With all extreme disadvantages, she accomplished her schooling and inspired and helped many people who were disable. Her vision for her dream was never blind. It was as clear as the window Vincent wiped. That’s why she made impossible possible.

If Albert Einstein existed in the world of GATTACA, he would be nothing, but an invalid human being with aspersers syndrome dyslexia, learning disorder epilepsy and uncombed hair. We obviously know him as an intellectual genius. He received Nobel Prize in physics and brought many unique theories. Taking a look at only good side of Him did not make us realize how tough his life was. However, all disadvantages did not make him give up. He once quoted “It's not that I'm so smart, it's just that I stay with problems longer” which he knew there was not such a thing as genius people including him. People who we consider as genius have one thing in common that they have strong motivation and passion more than talented people. Albert Einstein proved that by his passion better than anybody in the intellectual world.
Although there will be definitely a benefit in genetically producing our babies such as disease-free , higher talents it still created problems in fragile utopia. As well know Anton and Jerome both were born with this aid of better genetic, but they both struggled with their pressure painfully. Anton always had to prove he was better than Vicente particularly their game called chicken. Having more stamina should’ve made him swim longer to win the game all the time as he expected. However, Vicente won the last game and that made Anton suffer emotionally. Jerome also could not take pressure of being the second best with his genetic. He once tried to commit suicide because of an expectancy of him that he always had to be the number one instead of the second best swimmer. Luckily he survived from his suicide with being paralyzed, but he became alcoholic and in the end he burned himself with a silver medal. Having better genetically designed babies did not create perfect happiness and even talented ones suffered as much as invalid.

There is something that we cannot calculate or prove by science. We do not have to limit your life because eyes of society or science even prove to us less talented. There have been so many human begins challenged their limited expectancy and won extraordinary goals. Talent is secondary. What we have to is not to put any doubt in our heart and not to give up. Someday miracle might come to our hands if we keep swimming our lives with valid soul.
